Tournament Format

The Million Dollar Open is a national golf tournament open to professional golfers that do not enjoy full-time status on the PGA Tour. The format is simple - First Stage: Up to ten 36 hole qualifiers with 100 players each and 50% of total participants advancing. Second Stage: Five 36 hole qualifiers with 100 players each; 50% advance. Third Stage: Two 36 hole qualifiers with 125 players each; 62 players from each qualifier advance. Final Stage: 124 qualifiers join with 20 sponsors exemptions to compete in a four day event with a full field guaranteed $1 million purse.
